COOKPAD is the world’s largest recipe site allowing visitors to upload and search through original, user-created recipes. Currently being used by almost half of all Japanese women in their 20-30s, COOKPAD has become an essential tool in enabling families to enjoy cooking across Japan. As of September 2011, COOKPAD had a total of 14 million users and more than 1 million registered recipes.

We embraced Ruby on Rails in 2008 when redesigning our website and mobile services, and since then, the service has continued to grow. The biggest Rails site in Japan, as of September 2011 we’ve been serving 1 billion page views on web and mobiles to over 14 million unique users every month.

We love Rails and Ruby, and the team gets to tackle many exciting technical challenges in pursuit of our mission to “improve peoples every day lives through cooking”.
